Lucky 13: Mrs. Martin’s Journey in Education
This year marks Mrs. Martin’s 13th year in education—lucky 13! Over the years, she has dedicated herself to helping students succeed and grow. Out of those 13 years, 9 have been with ISOK, and she has spent 11 years working in Oklahoma’s K12 schools. Each year has brought new challenges, growth, and incredible opportunities to connect with students.
Mrs. Martin currently serves as a Math Interventionist, a role that is quite unique for a high school setting. She loves working closely with students who struggle with math and helping them build confidence and skills at their own pace. Her focus isn’t on rushing through standards—it’s on growth. That’s what makes ISOK so special: the school meets students where they are, offering multiple pathways, flexibility, concurrent enrollment, work-study programs, and so much more. Mrs. Martin is proud to be part of a team that values student success and ensures no one is left behind.
A Little About Mrs. Martin
Mrs. Martin has a wonderful husband—her high school sweetheart—and two adorable furbabies who keep life fun and full of love. When she’s not teaching, you’ll probably find her:
- Traveling: Her husband works for an airline, so they take full advantage of the perks! They recently visited Tokyo, Japan, and are planning a trip to Australia soon.
- Exploring nature: She loves long walks, especially with her dogs.
- Gaming & crafting: Mrs. Martin has recently gotten back into World of Warcraft, and she enjoys crafting projects.
- Watching anime & learning Japanese: It’s been such a fun challenge!
- Spending time with family: Even though they live in different states, she makes it a priority to visit often.
As for food? Mrs. Martin is always up for trying something new, especially when traveling!
Why She Loves ISOK
What Mrs. Martin loves most about ISOK is its commitment to students. The school provides time to connect, flexibility, and innovative programs that truly support their success. Being part of a team that values student growth over speed is something she’s proud of every day.
