Deanna Duerson | Science Teacher
Mrs. Duerson joined the K12 team in 2014. She is a 38-year veteran teacher. She earned a bachelor’s in biology with a minor in education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Ms. Duerson coached basketball and her students know her as “Coach D.” She has a love for science and nature! I Her favorite thing is to be outside enjoying the natural world by hiking & gardening. She also enjoys working with her animals on her hobby farm. Ms. Duerson loves being a teacher and working with students.

Mr. Jones is a small-town guy that loves his family, sports, traveling, and music. He has a degree from University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha and has taught for nine years. He is also married, and he and his wife have six children combined.

Mrs. Sherry’s teaching career has spanned 3 decades and she LOVEs to teach! Creating art, growing blueberries and travel are some of her favorite hobbies. She has 3 grown and married children, and 8 awesome grandchildren! Mrs. Sherry’s husband is Jack and they live happily in rural Oklahoma.

Esther Gonzalez | MS Special Education English/Math Teacher
Now in her second year at ISOK, Mrs. Gonzalez has served in classrooms across different grade levels and states. She holds a Master’s in Special Education Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, which equips her to meet diverse student needs. She is proud to teach 6th grade English and Math, as well as 7th grade English.

Hayley Wynn | Math Teacher
Ms. Wynn started with ISOK in October of 2024. She has been in education for roughly 10 years, most of those as a math teacher (6th through 12th grade) and 3 years as a school counselor. She received a bachelor’s degree in math education and a master’s degree in school counseling at West Texas A&M University.

Nyssa Adams | History Teacher
Mrs. Adams is a history teacher at ISOK with a total of eight years of teaching experience, including three years in an online environment and five years in traditional brick-and-mortar settings. Throughout her career, she has taught a diverse range of subjects, including special education, history, science, English, and mathematics.

Jennifer Ceville | Business & Marketing Explorations, Financial Literacy, Life Skills
Mrs. Ceville brings over 25 years of experience as a Career Technical Education teacher to Insight School of Oklahoma High School. She specializes in delivering course content for Business & Marketing Explorations, Personal Financial Literacy, and Life Skills. Mrs. Ceville is dedicated to providing instruction, support, and guidance, managing the learning process with a focus on individual student needs. She monitors student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system and collaborates with students and parents/learning coaches to help students achieve their educational goals.

Mrs. Cotton graduated from Northeastern State University with a bachelor’s degree in Organismic Biology. She is certified to teach biological sciences and intermediate mathematics. She began teaching math at ISOK in 2023 but previously taught three years before.

Dawn Crawford | Reading Intervention Teacher, 10th grade English
Mrs. Crawford has been with ISOK since 2021 with 5 years in high school education overall. She has a Masters in English from Southeastern Louisiana University, and she loves reading, writing, and grammar. She relocated to Oklahoma City after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, got married in 2018, and continues to live in OKC with her husband and two dogs.

Jason Deskin, M.Ed. | CTE Agriculture Teacher
Mr. Jason Deskin began working at ISOK in 2018 with six years prior teaching experience in AgEd. Over his almost 7 years with ISOK, he has taught science, worked as a Career Counselor, and is currently the Agricultural Education teacher for Insight. He received his Associates Degree from Conner’s State College, his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University, and his Master’s in Online Education from SNHU.

Ms. Hamrick started with ISOK in 2018 with four years prior experience. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and previously worked in middle schools. She lives in Ponca City with her husband, Ryan and daughter, Harper. She spends as much time as she can outside on her farm and reading books!

Kaylee Huerta | Art Teacher
Mrs. Huerta started with ISOK in 2020. She has worked in brick-and-mortar as the art teacher for Tulsa Public Schools in elementary and middle school. She has a Bachelor of Art Education form NSU and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Tulsa. She currently lives in Tulsa with her husband and two sons.

Jenica Long | Physical Science Teacher
Mrs. Long graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2007 with a degree in Agronomy. She started out working in a moderate to severe disabilities classroom while she worked on obtaining her alternative certifications in science. She has been teaching science since 2009 and has taught 6th grade through seniors. Mrs. Long is passionate about helping students see they are valued and that science can be fun.

Susan Marsh | Science Teacher, Earth Science
Mrs. Marsh graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, OK. She has taught all levels of science for the last 25 years, mostly at Moore and Southmoore High School. She loves being at ISOK because she wants to help students realize how successful they can be when given the opportunity.

Stephen Ballard | Physical Science, Algebra 1, Financial Literacy, Health Science
Mr. Ballard has been a professional educator since 1999. His degree from the University of Oklahoma was a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education. His first professional teaching assignment was to create and present the curriculum for high school Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in. A few years later, he became the director of an Upward Bound grant and earned a Master’s Degree in Education Administration at East Central University. As a grant director, Mr. Ballard administrated the academic programming, summer residential component, and developed enrichment classes and activities for students while leading the program staff and professional educators with the goal of getting students prepared for advanced high school classes and post-secondary education.
He later made a switch from grant administrator to Chief Financial Officer of a small company where he oversaw payroll, 401(K) plan management, and directed Human Resources. In addition to being a CFO, he continued work on his doctorate. After earning a Ph.D. in the field of Education Administration and Curriculum Supervision from the University of Oklahoma, he began to look for ways to get back into education. He found that opportunity by taking a position as an adjunct instructor in the College of Education and Psychology at East Central University. While working there as an exclusively on-line instructor, he taught several graduate level courses for students earning a Master’s degree. Additionally, he served remotely as an Instructional Associate in the Educational Leadership Department at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX and as an Associate Faculty member/Doctoral Chair in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arizona Global Campus.
He and his wife stay busy raising two daughters and a son. He enjoys traveling, playing guitar, and creating outlandish lighting displays in his yard each holiday season. He is also a big Batman and Beatles fan.

Michelle Martin | Math Intervention Teacher
Ms. Martin teaches electives such as ACT Prep and study skills classes to help improve students’ skills in Math and English. She went to college for English education, but almost immediately got certified in mathematics because she loves both so much. Ms. Martin has been with Oklahoma’s K12 since 2014, and in education since 2012. Her passion is helping those students who struggle in mathematics!

Ashley Mays | US History, Psychology, Sociology, Intro to Human and Social Services
Mrs. Mays started with ISOK in 2023 with 11 years of experience in education in the brick-and-mortar setting. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Midwestern State University. She has previously taught students from Pre-K all the way through 12th Grade, but enjoys working with high school students the most. She has taught everything from Elementary Science to Middle School ELA to High School History and Science. She was also the director of her previous school’s Spring Musical for 2 years, which she found exciting and fulfilling.

Dr. Oliver has been with ISOK since 2021 bringing with him 21 years of experience. He has a Doctoral degree in Education in Leadership and Learning where he specializes in Educational Administration, a Master’s degree in Science Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Erika Penuel | English Teacher, American Literature
Ms. Penuel started with ISOK in 2019 and is entering her 23rd year of teaching. She has earned four postsecondary degrees. She holds a bachelor’s in broadcasting and film with a minor in Theatre from the University of Central Missouri and a bachelor’s in elementary education with an emphasis in English/language arts from Ottawa University at Kansas City. Her first master’s degree was in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in integrating technology in the classroom from Walden University. Elizabeth Bley is an American Literature teacher at Insight School of Oklahoma. She joined the ISOK staff in 2021, her 38th year to teach. She has a Bachelor and Master degree from Southern Nazarene University.
Sheila Butler | HS Special Education Math Teacher
Mrs. Butler comes to ISOK with over 20 years in education. Special education is her passion, and she works hard to ensure that our students are successful in the virtual setting. Although not originally from Oklahoma, she and her family have made southeastern Oklahoma their home. The Butler’s are parents to 6 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 Great Danes.

Brenda Chambers | English Language Learner Teacher
Ms. Chambers works with middle and high school students at both OVCA and ISOK. She started with OVCA/ISOK in 2018. Previously, she worked for Broken Arrow Public Schools for 10 years. She has 13 years of classroom experience, a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Carson Newman College, and graduated in 2019 with a master’s degree in human development and family science from OSU. She has Oklahoma certifications for Pre-K–2, 1–8, and EL. Ms. Chambers has a great passion for dual learners and their families and enjoys working with them.
